The food aspect of the health and fitness world is something that I have a lot of experience in. I was a full vegetarian from the age of 10-16 so I had to learn from a very early age how to cook for myself and how to ensure I was getting a sufficient about of protein and vitamins. Unfortunately, by the end of those 6 years I found my health deteriorating so I added chicken and fish back into my diet and saw some major improvement. Even though now, at the age of 24, I eat all meats again I still understand the importance of a high vegetable diet and limiting my intake of animal based protein. I also suffer from lactose intolerance now which is both a blessing and a curse. It means I’m forced to avoid high calorie and nutrient poor foods like pizza, milk shakes, and basically any pasta dish that involved cheese but it also makes it harder to eat out at restaurants or get food on the go. This means I have become quite good at sitting down and planning my meals for the week then spending a few hours about twice a week preparing my meals for the coming days.
To make sure I start off this Diet Bet on the right food I have done a small meal prep session for the next few days. I baked myself some chicken, cooked up some quinoa with a little vegetable stock to add some flavour, and lightly steamed some veggies for my main meals. For my snacks of have some raw fruits in vegetables to hopefully help prevent me from snacking on junk food.
So here’s to my success! I have to lose about 9 pounds in 28 days and I think know I can do it!
