Today starts my 4 week challenge. I am recommitting to the healthy living that I started back in September (I've lost 14 lbs since I started on my 42nd birthday). It's been a slow process & has taken time to break old habits (I'm still working on those).
One thing that has helped me be successful is to start viewing food as fuel, not just delicious stuff to fill my day & social gatherings. I never really ate breakfast, but when I did, it was usually some quick high carb enery bar...by 10 am I was starving!!! I've learned that for my body, I need a breakfast of protein & healthy fiber (plant based) with a healthy carb (fresh fruit). One of my 'go-to' breakfasts is a vegetable frittata w/a side of hot sauce (118 calories & 9 grams of protein/serving. I never liked scrammbled eggs but the frittata tastes different. I can make it on Sunday evening & reheat it for several days (that way I don't have to think in the am). I haven't been bored with it yet, since I change up the veggies & lean meat that I add to it. I find that I'm not 'starving' or craving more carbs before lunch.
I'm sharing this because it might help you like it's helped me. I can post the recipe if anyone is interested.
Getting to know what works for your body takes time...so don't give up :)
