I'm about 6 weeks into my new vegan lifestyle and things are starting to fit different.  That is good because shit is getting harder.  I've been walking a lot and doing yoga, but just started running a little over a week ago.  I worried about being able to, but found that first run/walk a lot easier than expected.  That didn't last.

This North Dakota wind is getting to me.  It's hard to go out and run on a good day, but add in the wind and rain and things get really tough.  Today my legs felt like they had ten pound weights strapped onto them and the wind was very tiring.  It doesn't matter what direction I'm going, I will have to spend most of that time walking/running into the wind.

I kept up a positive commentary the whole time I was running, telling myself I was light as a feather and strong, long, lean.  I was almost yelling, trying to convince myself.  Good thing there was no one to hear me, I'm sure I sound like a loon.  The fact that I can yell at myself while running is amazing in itself.  Just one week ago I couldn't make it 60 seconds without gasping for air not even halfway through and forget talking.  It might be hard, but it IS paying off.

I did 6 sets of 90 sec. run/2:00 walk, plus a brisk walk out and back to the road I prefer to use.  Good deep stretching after and I did some warm up yoga this morning.
