About My Fitness Journey

When I was in high school I never imagined I would EVER need to be concerned about my weight! I ate junk food and layed around all day and couldn't gain weight if I tried! By the end of my senior year I weighed 95 lbs, and I'm 5'7''!

Fast forward a few years later. I'm pregnant with my son and about to give birth at a weight of 135 lbs!

Fast forward again. 6 years later, not only have I not lost the weight, I put more on! I was at my biggest ever, a whopping 150 lbs! I didn't even realize how out of shape I was until I decided to try a class at the gym.  After 30 seconds of jumping jacks I had to puke. I couldn't breathe. That's the moment everything changed.

My instructor turned out to be my best friend. At first, she was just my gym coach, but over the years she became much more. Kind of like a mom really lol! With her help and LOTS of hard work, I lost the weight, and hit my goal of 125!! I was estatic! She was the best motivator ever! I remember a quote she would always tell me when I wanted to quit. WHAT DOESN'T CHALLENGE YOU DOESN'T CHANGE YOU!

Fast forward 2 years later...present day.  My gym shut down and I started going back to college. I also have a son who just started middle school.  My time is limited and my lunches consist of vending machine pastries. I am back where I started. 150 lbs.

I am ready to change. I promised myself when I lost the weight I would NEVER gain it back. Never say never! When I was 125 lbs, I ran 5ks and did mud runs. Now, I can barely run just 1 mile without stopping.

So now, I am ready, I am determined, I am motivated! I have a family trip coming up in Decemeber. We are taking our son to the mountains and I want to be able to actually hike the trails!

In my blog I will be posting motivational photos, quotes, recipes, and everything fitness related!
