I'm 56, almost 57, and I've been doing this on again off again struggle since I was 11.

So ready to get off the roller coaster for good.    Started today by logging my food, going for a 3 mile walk with hubby & the dog, and am getting ready to stay active with yardwork/housework.

This is my one day a week at home--the challenge is to eat right and stay fit while working full time, commuting and working on an engineering degree in the evenings/on Saturdays.

I have all the tools and the knowledge (and if there's an eating plan out there I've done it).  I've read more on emotional eating, self empowerment and nutrition than the average bear.

So anyway, time to put my daily in and out choices where my mouth is...I do not need to be perfect, I do not need to beat myself up, and I do have to believe I'm going to relax and finally get this.

I'm working on a streak of good choices for May--that's why I decided to join this Diet Bet (even though I don't believe in dieting at this point).

More from me soon.
