Okay, I'm about 12 weeks post partum; I had a surro-baby in mid-February. I have a bridesmaid dress to fit in to in 1 1/2 weeks. I also have a 2 year old son, who is very active and we, as a family, LOVE to spend time outdoors-hiking, camping, you name it.
I'm doing this DietBet for several reasons; to lose baby weight, to be healthy, to be fit enough to keep up with my son, to start getting in shape for backpacking and hiking this summer, mental health, and just to make things fun!
I've dropped the majority of the baby weight already but that last 10lbs has been hard, and this bet will challenge me enough to switch things up to make sure that weight comes off! I was already on the right track before the bet-counting calories and macros, exercising and doing yoga. So hopefully this will just keep me on the right track, I have money at stake and would love to MAKE money (and win a Glyder Apparel gift card ;)
My starting weight for the bet was 168-that's really high for a petite girl (I'm 5' 4''). My goal weight is 145 (though I need to get down to 161 for the bet). I actually am normally between 145 and 155, depending on how toned I am. If I'm pretty toned, I actually weigh more. So far I'm down to between 163-164.
My obsticles are that I don't have much of a chance to work out during the week, so I tend to go over my lunch hour. It work-I have an hour lunch so I either do a yoga class, or hit the elliptical. I figure it's better than nothing. Once this damn rain lightens up (I'm in Colorado), then I'll be able to get outdoors more. My other obstical is I'm recently transition back to eating vegetarian. I was vegetarian (close to vegan) before I had my son and before the surrogate pregnancy. While I was eating meat, I was eating really lean meat (mostly ground turkey). So now I've just got to switch up my meals plans. But I'm actually doing 2 meal replacement shakes a day and it's surprisingly working well. I thought I'd be hungry but between those, snacking and TONS of water, I'm doing (and feeling) great!
Here's to hoping this bet is successful and a kick start on my journey to good health.
