I'm about to start my second DietBet: Lead up to Thanksgiving (http://diet.bt/VgLhka) and I wanted to start a bit about the only way I think this will work for me.

I will not juice. I will not cut carbs. I will not go paleo. I will not detox. Like many other people on this platform (I assume), I've done my fair share of yo-yo dieting. While some of these diets may not seem like yo-yo dieting, I believe that anything that restricts what you eat is a recipe for disaster.

This morning I woke up and had nutella for breakfast. Breakfast of champions? Hell no. But I really really wanted nutella. Instead of trying to ignore my desire, I just had some. I looked at the options I had. I could deny myself the nutella, think about it all day, and end up eating a bunch of other crap in order to forget about the nutella. OR I could just have a bit of nutella (not too much) and move on with my day.

I'm in this race for the long haul. I have lost lots of weight over the years through startvation and restriction. And it definitely works. But only in the short term. My goal is not to be stick thin. My goal is to be content. So, if it takes longer to get to a healthy weight- then so be it!

I hope you'll join me in a slow and steady wins the race approach!!!
