September was not good to me. Being diagnosed with mononucleosis at 40 was the first blow. Don't even get me started on the weirdness of mono when you're older. Swollen hands and feet and a full body rash were just two of the things I experienced. Then, September took it up a notch and I broke my foot and severely sprained my ankle in a bike accident. Fast forward to now, with very little exercise and a lot of pity eating in between and I am desperate to have pants that fit and to feel more like myself.
I've always known lack of exercise was not the explanation for my ample weight; I'm actually pretty active, and enjoy running, biking, and P90x3. I love feeling strong! This past two months has only accentuated my need to control my eating. All I have done is steadily gain weight and feel sorry for myself. The correlation between my mood and exercise is strong. So, this is where Diet Bet comes in. My hope is that this is the motivation I need to eat well even when I (still!) can't exercise like I want to. Also, I hope it will encourage me to do the body strength exercises I can do without depending on a program like P90x3.
So, here's to Diet Bet, and the hope that I have finally found a way to lose a substantial amount of weight so I can be as healthy and active as possible.
