Last night, I watched the premiere of ABC's new show, My Diet is Better than Yours.  It is hosted by a very laid-back Shaun T and features 5 overweight contestants who are each matched up with 5 celebrity trainers who bring their own unique diet plan to their contestant.   I have to admit I was intrigued by the concept, wondering who I would pick to train me if I were on the show.  The Wild Diet is probably the closest to what I have done in the past where I was successful in losing weight and gaining health.   The Wild Diet trainer advocated eating about 2/3 plant foods and 1/3 meats, oil,& fat while sticking to the highest quality foods you can afford:  wild, farm grown, real food that's found mostly on the perimeter of your grocery store, not processed.  Avoid sugar, white carbs and processed grains.  Eat protein in the mornings especially.  Read your ingredients.   Do whole body workouts.  Break a sweat every day and do HIIT (high intensity interval training ) spurts.

Much of what The Wild Diet trainer presented was familiar to me.  The part of this diet I need to learn is the importance of eating good fats (yes, there are good fats).  I think this trainer put butter in coffee and used something called bone broth.

On ABC's website are blogs about each diet approach that provides additional detail on each trainer and their approach.  Check it out!

I'm going to follow the Wild Diet for rest of the month and see how I fare.  Care to join me?
