Why are you trying to lose weight? Less than I year ago I gave birth to my second daughter who was only 13 months younger than my first child. I had no time to bounce back between children and having two cesareans. I have many health related issues due to my weight and have been in and out of the hospital with heart related issues. I just turned 30 February of 2016 and if you would have told me 10 years ago I'd have to give up my hunting trips and hiking Alaskan mountains - I would have laughed at you. I don't want my daughters to miss out on exploring the wilderness because of me. I've spent almost two years just below 250lbs. A complete diet change is exactly what I need and I've never dieted in my life, I've never had to worry about my weight or physical condition.
Favorite Healthy Food? Avocados, the good fat.
Favorite Sinful Food? Pickles and potatoes... Both fried.
My Preferred Method of Exercise - I go to the gym for my daily vacation. I love rowing, the stair master and climbing the jacob's ladder. However my favorite piece of equipment is the quadmill. I think my lower body is what I use for a majority of my activities. Also I am an avid downhill and backcountry skier.
My Approach to Weight Loss - For me personally a healthy diet is the key. I spent 5 months working out and was at the gym 7 days a week at times. I lost 6 lbs in 5 months. I went to Texas for Thanksgiving and my Aunt who dropped a ton of weight in the last year told me about the Ideal Protein Diet. She gave me a sheet and said to follow it as a guideline and that she never purchased any supplements or their food. The key is to be sugar aware and carb conscious. I ran it by my doctor and nutritionist and they both said to give it a try. I was amazed once I kicked all the processed food to the curb I could actually eat a lot more heathy food and still have less calories than my previous diet. I was surprised that for me, diet alone made such a difference.
