So I've struggled with my weight since the end of puberty (mid-90s). When I first was told I should lose some weight I was only 220 lbs, and the doctor wanted me to drop 30 0f them. As a relatively sedentary techno-geek, this task seemed impossible, and that was the mindset i went into it with. Obviously, with that mentality I was unsuccessful.

Since then I've tried a number of things, and come up with a larger number of excuses - the net result?

I'm now close to 400 lbs. I'm married, have two children, and want to be around for them; not something I'm bloody likely to do if I don't get this under control.

So; status today? I'm joining DietBet and putting money on the line.

My new drug plan covers Saxenda (weight loss drug).

I've got a membership at a local gym.

I've got a number of tech innovations helping me track everything.

I've got a wife who is supportive and trying to go through this with me so we can help keep each other accountable.
