There are so many different opinions on how to lose weight and which way is the best.  One program may be best suited for one individual whereas another program may be best suited for the next individual.  BUT...if your heart is not fully in it, every single one of these programs will fail.  You have to be in the right mindset for both the weight loss and the maintenance!

Here's a little background about little 'ol me.  Back in 2009, I lost 55 pounds with Weight Watchers because my heart was in it.  I was in the right mindset, built my self-confidence up and was loving life.  But due to unforeseen circumstances, my heart was elsewhere, major stress took over at both my workplace and personal life and over the course of seven years, the weight came back plus some.  Now we will fast forward to 2015 and a few major life events I have had to overcome.  The first major event in 2015 that changed my life drastically is something that I try not to dwell on because it still hurts but I've come to accept it.  The second major event in 2015 was definitely for the better and a huge chunk of my stress was taken away.  I'm still struggling with another major stress factor but at this time am accepting it for what it is.  I mean how many people actually love their job.  Sometimes you have to make sacrifices.  Overall, I've learned to accept things that I can't change and marvel at the things that I can and have changed.

Enter 2016 and the start of my DietBet challenges.  With 2015 behind me, the right mindset has found me again.  In the midst of my son's cupcake fundraiser for school, a friend and I decided to organize our first DietBet Kickstarter on February 15th.  Because my heart was in it, those cupcakes were no temptation for me.  I am focused on my end goal and working hard to keep my portions under control, making healthier, clean food choices, exercising more every day but I am also allowing myself the small treats here and there and the weight is coming off.  I'm loving the challenge of going out to a restaurant and finding the best choice on the menu or if I know there is not going to be healthy choices, to prepare and eat lighter the rest of the day.  My Fitbit has been a huge motivator in getting me to move more.  The challenges are a lot of fun!

My 1st hosted DietBet challenge led to joining a second and a third and organizing my 2nd DietBet, making it my fourth in a matter of weeks.  I'm loving the motivation and inspiration from others in these challenges whether it's getting new meal ideas, learning different exercises, seeing fabulous transformations and giving/receiving support to/from others.  DietBet challenge-goers are amazing!  I know there will be many more DietBet challenges to come for me.

If you are loving the DietBet challenges, consider joining my next hosted DietBet on March 28th here http://diet.bt/px65dj .  Let's see how large we can make the pot grow!  Look forward to seeing you there!  You can join up to three challenges at any one time and there are a ton available.  Just jump in and get started.  You will find motivation and inspiration in all.
