Following Dawn's lead, I decided to write a blog post about my goals for this upcoming DietBet.  Coming off a huge win last time around, I do have concerns that I'm not going to be able reach my goal again.  September is packed with weddings, work events, long hours, visitors, and the Big E (the largest fair in the Northeast). I thought the obstacles in June/July were bad - they are nothing compared to the month ahead. 

Luckily, I can get pretty competitive and this DietBet will help keep me motivated to stay on track.  I'm not gonna lie, I gained a few lbs back over the summer so I need to set up a new game plan.  

Reasons to do this other than taking your money:

  • Help relieve arthritis pain and get in better shape
  • Long term healthier eating habits 
  • Feeling good 

 

The Plan! 

  • Cutting back on carbs and sugar
  • Upping my visits to the gym
    • More strengthen training and stretching
  • Saying no to pumpkin beer and donuts 
  • Eating more veggies and fruit 
  • Work on portion control 

 

I think it is also good to acknowledge the things I'm already doing well so I keep up these healthy habits:

  • I drink A LOT of water 
  • I walk most places and easily reach my 10,000 step goal most days.  Maybe I should up my goal to 12,000 steps? 
  • I typically make my own lunches and rarely eat out during the week 

 

To keep myself on track, you should expect to see weekly updates on how I'm doing. It would be so amazing to attend my brother's wedding knowing I am down at least 4% of my body weight!
