
It's the start of a new month, which means, the start of a new DietBet Challenge for me. Like the last 2 challenges I have done, I am ever hopeful on this first day, but unlike those other two challenges, I'm stoked to do everything I can to cross this finish line.
If we learn from our mistakes than I am fully armed with knowledge this month and I intend to use it! Through my first 2 failed attempts I've learned several things about myself, diet, and exercise. I've also realized that setting smaller goals will all add up to a bigger success.
So here are my goals for this month....I'm putting them out into the universe to hold myself accountable that this DB community sees my intentions and will help me stay accountable too.
Ways to make my 4% this month:
- Stay hydrated - drink at least 108oz of water a day, keep pop and sugary drinks out of my mouth!
- Walk - utilize that fitbit and make it count! 10,000 steps is the daily recommendation so strive to hit that mark or higher.
- Move your body. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to spend hours and hours in the gyms. High intensity interval training can cut time to less than 30 minutes a day! (I am doing 2 different fitness challenges with a mix of HIIT, yoga, and pilates).
- Learn something new - Pintrest and YouTube are full of great ideas on recipes and free workouts so Pin and watch away!!
- Remember to rest - not just nightly sleep, but give your body a day to recharge...instead of sweating your booty off, try 20 minutes of light stretches or gentle yoga to show those working muscles some love.
- Circle the wagons - surround yourself with people who will motivate and encourage you and keep you remembering why you want to lose weight...not just to win money but to live a healthier life!
Maybe some of these things I am doing can help someone else. In the end we are all on the same journey - to become our best selves.
