My dear scale, Old Faithful, was laid to rest yesterday. After 15 years of weighing people and suitcases, I purchased a new Eat Smart scale. After setting it up and doing my first weigh-in, the new scale has been dubbed the name, Jake (paying homage to Jake from the State Farm commercials. Wife - "Who are you talking to in the middle of the night?" Husband: "Jake from State Farm." Wife grabs phone and asks, "What are you wearing, Jake from State Farm?" Jake: " Ah..Khakis". Wife: "She sounds hideous, this Jake from State Farm" Husband: "well, she's a guy, so....")
Jake weighed me 5 pounds heavier. Like the commerical, that's hideous, I thought. Stupid scale, silly name. Uhfortunately, the new scale is accurate. Bummer! Guess I have my work cut out for me.
