I've known for a while that I need to lose weight. For many different reasons: My health, confidence, to feel better about my body, to not have to scrutinize every photo only to deem most, if not all, unsatisfactory. I didn't like the me that was on display and I knew a change was needed. But it's tough to get going when it's easier to stay where I am, even though I am not happy there.
This challenge is my attempt to kick start myself into a healthier lifestyle. To get myself into a place where I am healthier and happier with myself.
So then the day after I signed up, and the same day that this diet bet started, was also the day that my best friend from kindergarten asked me to be a bridesmaid in her Summer 2017 wedding! Yet another reason to get my butt moving! Also why not start now and make sure I am not trying to accomplish too much in too little time! It'll just be further incentive to accomplish my goals!
The 2nd day of this diet bet could've been a perfect opportunity to fall off the wagon though. It was my 2nd anniversary with my boyfriend, and we went out to a nice little restaurant for dinner that night. I didn't end up tracking what I ate that day, but I DID try and choose healthier options (such as halibut rather than something swimming in delicious delicious fat). I also had dessert but took the half that I didn't eat home. We also went to see a movie after dinner but I didn't feel the need to get popcorn or candy since we had just eaten dinner and dessert at the restaurant. Before all that though, my boyfriend and I went hiking for an hour or so in the morning, so I was able to get some activity in before what might've been a points heavy evening.
When I weighed myself this morning, it was the same as the previous morning! So even after not tracking that meal, but taking other precautions, I didn't gain anything! And it even went down as of this morning by .2 lbs! Which isn't a ton, but it's still going down, so I'll take it!! :D
And the week's not over yet!!
