I got curious this morning, thinking about habits, and how changing my lifestyle is becoming so much easier day by day. I decided to google how long it takes to form a habit. It turns out, a mixed bag of opinions leave it safe to say it takes anywhere from 21-66 days.
I sat here absorbing that for a moment.
66 days. That's a little over two months. How many times have 66 days passed, and I have failed to seize the opportunity that life has given me. How many times have 66 days passed, and I have wallowed in self pity instead of putting in the work for real CHANGE, then woken on the 66th day, only to find I am still inside the same me, and still not best me I can be.

This is my 66 days. The next 66 days will be the first 66 days of the rest of my life. I refuse to live in the shell of a person I have become.

I will sleep, I will wake, and in 66 days, I will be here... whether I have reached my goal or not. If I wake up, and have the lingering regret of a 66 days wasted... or if I wake up satisfied, and sail through my day with my new habits in tact, wake up, be HEALTHY, be HAPPY, be POSITIVE, take CONTROL of myself and my life... I'm not just talking about working out and counting calories.... The next 66 days could change everything, or simply pass by merely changing the clock... 66 days of taking control.

So I have a mission for anyone who may be reading this... 66 days... what can we accomplish? We are already here, on our journey... can we also pledge to make lasting habits, lifestyle changes that can sustain us through a lifetime of healthy choices?

I pledge to continue my routine of logging, and exercising, and treating food as fuel instead of an addiction. We are well on our way, what will you pledge to yourself today? In 66 days, how will you feel when you wake up? It's up to you!
