My life has been so hectic the past few years and as much as I wanted to, I hadn’t invested much time in making healthy food and exercise choices. In 2014, as I was about to turn 50 my doctor said that I was officially in the obese category. I was not only embarrassed but I was also very pissed at myself for allowing myself to get that way. Then 2015 brought me even more health shattering news which thankfully I was able to overcome.

I’m now back to focusing on my weight issues. But was not really sure what direction to take. I’ve done Weight Watchers with some temporary success, but never kept the weight off. I joined a gym, bought and sold a treadmill. I tried other diets but nothing really motivated me long enough to keep it up. I got bored!!

Just yesterday I overheard a few co-workers chatting about this web site and thought to myself. OMG, this sounds so fun!! I’m very competitive and know a lot of competitive people…I should try this. At least once. So here I am. Instead of paying a lot of money for a fad weight-loss program, gym membership or personal trainer, and since I do love to compete for money….I thought to myself “why don’t I just put some money towards this?” Best part….. I love the thought that I might just get paid for doing what works best for me.

From what I understand you just have to do a few steps and be willing to put up at least $35 bucks! I have chosen to create a game and see if I can get some friends to join with me. Or if that don’t work out I’ll find a game that will be starting soon on the web site. Weighing in once a month sounds great, because it’s enough time that I could have a few not-so-great days during the month, but still stay on track.

Even though it seems too good to be true, DietBet really sounds like a great and fun way to reward yourself for losing weight. And there's no better day to start than today!
