Today's "Daily Carrot" from the website states: "When you announce your DietBet publicly, you're ratcheting up your commitment in a big way".  I completely agree that this applies to me.  I don't like failure, and I certainly do not want to fail publicly!  Right or wrong, my ego provides the accountability I need to stay on track.
