Oh my...I have gotten so tired of running around the same bush! I started planning for turning 60 in November with the transformer game. The bad thing about that was that I had gotten sloppy enough about my weight that I actually had 10% to lose . The good thing was that I had longer to do it and could take my time and get it off right before summer and my BD!
Well I made it! But ANYONE who's ever done the "losing weight thing" knows that the "keeping it off thing" tends to be like walking through a minefield! You need to be on the offense and defense at all times. Looking ahead to the next "family gathering or holiday" waiting for the next "blindside" that you didn't see coming. You are holding a "flag" with your personal favorite best weight on it, trying to hold on to it for all you're worth! You know how nice your clothes feel at that weight, and how strong you feel when YOU have "the treat" you have worked for and planned for and then stopped with it and not let it lead you into an "eating frenzy".
So why do we get so crazy when we hit a little turbulence? The secret is to NEVER stop plugging away at your battle. I got rid of my fat clothes a long time ago, but I guess some of the clothes I kept STILL let me get a bit out of hand. I may have to let some of them go as well. I joined this maintainer because I want to hang here at this weight. It feels good, I feel in control and strong here! But... I just finished a week of celebrating 60 and I'm SO glad it's over lol! Because I thrive on structure, planning, starting and ending a week, starting and ending a month with diet bet. It has helped me so much!
Breaking up my "food life" and my "weight life" into "bite size portions" keeps me straight! It's the best plan I have found yet and trust me I have tried a bunch of them. I love not attending meetings and having the freedom to do what works for ME. After all..the reasons any of us have weight issues are very personal and individual to each of us! Good luck to all of you! We're all winners and in the process of keeping our titles!
