Hey, I'm Katie. I'm almost thirty-four years old and I have seven kids. Yes, seven. Six of those kids are boys so I live in a loud and busy house for sure. I've been married to my husband for thirteen and a half years and have basically been having babies and/or breastfeeding for nearly thirteen of those now (my oldest turned twelve in June). My weight has been a constant yo-yo all along with some really great results in weight loss a few times and a lot of other times when it has been super hard to lose baby weight. I'm about five pounds below my heaviest ever non-pregnant weight but I'm feeling stuck.

My main goals for this challenge and beyond are:

To find a balance in life as a stay at home, homeschooling mom. I'm with my kids ALL THE TIME so finding time to myself and to exercise is a challenge for sure. Two years ago, I set a 2,015 km in 2015 goal and between my elliptical and a stationary bike, I finished my goal before the end of the year. I lost thirty pounds and felt good physically but it took so much mental energy that at the end of the year, I felt like I had barely spent time with my family the whole year. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to have a balance and so this year I've been doing almost nothing and my body is paying for it.

To figure out my food issues. I feel hungry all the time and need to find out how to appropriately deal with that since I'm still breastfeeding. I've been successful in the past losing weight while breastfeeding but this time just feels harder to me. I need to start planning ahead so I don't just grab whatever is quickest or what I'm feeding my kids for lunch. I want to eat with my family for supper so I know the main meals I need to focus on are breakfast, lunch and snacks.

To learn how to love myself and treat myself like I'm worth it every day. Worth the time and effort to eat better and move my body more, worth the energy it takes to set aside time for myself.

I've been following Sunshine's Journey on Instagram for awhile now and love the message - I still want my curves and don't have any crazy low weight I'm aiming for, I just want to be healthier and feel better and I know that some weight is going to have to leave to get there. This is my first DietBet and I don't know if people actually use the blog feature but I love to write so it works for me. ;)
