I am a high school Sped Math teacher & have already lost 8 pounds since the beginning of school 3 weeks ago and would like to continue losing weight and eating healthy which is hard during school because it is so stressful and I am addicted to diet cokes with vanilla. I am trying not to give in to the urge to run to Sonic which is one block from school to grab a Route 44 because I need the energy to make it through the afternoon classes. Was told by the doctor in March of this year that I needed to push away from the table and exercise because my blood pressure was 131/85 when it is normally 90/70 even though I am 55. I just didn't return to the doctor in May because I was even more stressed with end-of-the-year school testing, etc. Need accountability to keep eating healthy and excersing. My goal weight is 120 but I have been told that it is too small for me by doctors, so I am trying to at least get down to 130, which means that I need to lose another 28 pounds. I have struggled in the past with borderline anorexia in high school and college(before there was a name for it) from dating an abusive boyfriend who wanted me to lose weight when I was 90 pounds, so I am aware that I am never small enough in my eyes. Trying not to portray that to my 23 year old daughter who ran college and high school track and is a healthy weight.
Just being honest since I work with abused students with low self-esteem. I want them to enjoy their youth and have a healthier self-image. Any info on ideal weight for me would be appreciated. I am small-boned and 5'3 3/4".
