It's Fall.  Winter is coming.  This is a cautionary tale of sabotage and complacency.

Ok!  Cut the gloom and doom, but let's do keep it real.  I've been working hard since June 1 to get back on track.  The Texas summer has been good to us in that we have not had the high temps we are accustomed to.  I have been running, cussing Jillian videos and eating well about 90% of the time...expect that 4 day vaca in July.  I've lost 17.5 lbs and have sustained some very healthy habits and made good choices.  

Enter Fall.  Kids go back to school.  Yay!  Routine!  Football starts.  Ugh...there goes making great fresh dinners every night.  Then, who volunteers to be Concessions Chair for the high school booster club?  This girl.  Who finally decides to reignite her passion for health and starts the process of recertification to be a personal trainer specializing in weight loss and nutrition?  This girl.  Who gets the most adorable puppy ever?  This girl.  WHO IS CRAZY?  This girl.

Enter my DietBet - It's Fall Y'all!  I had to do something to refocus.  I had to stay strong because winter is coming.  Food and hibernation abound.  Join me and my friends as we prepare to fight the holiday battle of the ages.  

Success looks different for each of us.  Eating lifestyles and workout choices are different for each of us.  But there are some common things we can do that will help everyone.

Here's the recipe for success for me:

  • Eat - plan your week, shop, meal prep, plan your day, pack it for work, eat what you brought
  • Move - plan your week, work your plan
  • Rest - rest BUT dont' stop, find something to keep you moving and mind your NEAT*
  • Repeat - start all over again :)

This is so easy to focus on and "repeat" which is a challenge.  Making something repeatable helps you make it into a habit which is how this all works long term.

The last way to be successful is to have accountability.  Find someone.  Anyone.  Facebook.  Whatever!  Share your struggles.  Have someone check in on your eating and moving.  I have a thread with my 4 very best friends.  We are all on a different path but to the same goal.  Health.
