
There are many people who struggle with being overweight/obese in today's society. I, Emily Dickinson, am one of them. I have been overweight all of my life; my school experience as been treacherous thus far. I am now a freshman at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and I have finally decided it is time to do something for me.
In college, a student can come up with various reasons why not to workout. It is hard to juggle school and getting healthy at the same time! However, I have realized that it is possible. It may not seem possible some days and it may seem like a breeze other days, but in the end it is possible.
Time management is key for me. I have classes, labs, and study periods; now I have to throw in workouts and rest times. At first, I felt like it was not going to be able to happen, but I found a way. Grant it, I just began this new schedule of mine I feel like it was meant to be this way.
I want to become a better and healthier person. I need to become healthier and happier. All of my life I have been made fun of and put down because of my weight and looks, but now it is MY time to make a change. I can sit here all day and blog about the change I want to see in myself, but if I don't ACT upon it then all of this is worth nothing.
With that being said, it is time for a workout!
