Today marks Day One of my first DietBet challenge. I have my ideal end results in mind, but I am aware that my goals may change along the way of this journey.

One thing I have realized is that I need to love my body. I need to love the fact that it has potential and is willing to work hard, as long as my mind allows it. I need to love the fact that the only person my body cares about is me and only me. While doing this challenge, I need to keep in mind that I am doing this for me and not forĀ other peoples' perceptions of me.

I've always said that I'm a lover, not a fighter; however, I came to the realization that I actually am a fighter. I'm not a fighter in the sense of how most people perceive that phrase. I'm a fighter in the sense that I will fight for what I want: to be healthy and happy. I am willing to fight in this challenge. Whether it be an unhealthy craving or my want to skip the gym, I am prepared to fight the short-term impulses for theĀ long-term goal.

Here's to the upcoming obstacles with the best rewards.
