Why is it that a we usually start weight loss efforts on Mondays but give up after a couple of days? or that a new project idea pops into our minds and we're so excited about it but weeks later it's long forgotten? or we have tons of things we want to do but wish we had more time or energy or money?
Well...I personally think it's because we REALLY don't want it bad enough! I mean think about it. Why do other people achieve their goals and not you? How does a homeless person go from being homeless to a radio personality or a disabled person turn into the biggest, successful motivational speaker?
It's because they WANTED it that bad! They did not give into failure and self pity, laziness or excuses!
"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve"
When you want something so bad that you dream about it, talk about it non stop, imagine yourself achieving it and start turning thought into action, THAT is when the magic happens.
We all have 24 hours in a day, we all have some sort of hectic life but let's be real with ourselves..are we really doing as much as we can?
I am a mother of 3 boys and a step daughter, I too have a hectic schedule and I too WANT to achieve my goals. I try to coordinate my schedule around my family so that I don't feel guilty about doing this for me, because as a mother (I'm sure moms out there can relate, we feel guilty doing things for us, but we need to change that mentality and instead think, I will be healthier and more energetic to play with my children and live a longer life).
I don't have a gym membership, I don't like the sore feeling of a great workout, in fact I hate it! I don't like to feel hungry or snack on veggies. NO! I want cake, and chocolate and burgers..YUP I do..I admit it! but what I want much more than that is happiness. I want to be happy with my body, I want to wear a cute outfit and feel that it really does look cute on me. The way I see it is that I have had about 37,000 opportunities in my lifetime to eat whatever I want..food is always going to be there, so why not sacrifice the cupcake for once or eat a slice or two less of pizza?
When you're in the middle of that workout and you want to stop because it hurts or you're tired..guess what it'll be over soon..30 minutes come and go quickly when you're sitting in front of a TV so why not use them for your benefit?
So ask yourself one question everytime you want to go for that cupcake or pass on that workout...How bad do I really want it?!
Good luck everyone! See you at the finish line : )
