I joined this Dietbet to motivate me to lose the 14 pounds I had gained since June, when I won my last Dietbet - also a Transformer.  I looked and felt awesome at that time.  At the end of the Dietbet, I was only about 10 pounds higher than my ideal weight asnd I thought I could do it - I was going to lose that last 10 pounds on my own.  I was training for a marathon in September, and thought I wouldn't have any problem sticking to my diet and exercise program.  And the weight started to creep on, despite all of my running.  After the marathon I cut way back on my running and boosted my eating way up. Consequence - 14 pound weight gain.

I finally decided to join another Transformer. I was so motivated that first week, but since then I have really fallen off the wagon.  I'm writing this blog in an effort to make myself accountable.  I know how to do this - I'm a successful Personal Trainer.  I'm great at motivating my clients, but "Do as I say, not as I do" appears to be my motto!

So, I am starting over again.  Basically, the first two rounds were a complete write-off.  So I am setting up some rules for myself.

Rule 1:  Plan my meals the night before using My Fitness Pal.  And follow them the next day!

Rule 2:  Stick to my 5 days a week running program.  I am running a half-marathon the end of April, so I will follow the training program for that.

Rule 3:  Strength train 3 days per week.  As a trainer I not only have an excellent program to follow, but I also know how invaluable weight training is.

Rule 4:  12000 steps per day (includes ny running steps).  I just got a new Fitbit Charge Tracker, and I intend to use it daily.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve- my first big test.  I am going to plan my meals tonight, including a beer or glass of wine with hubby tomorrow night after Christmas Eve Mass.  Second big test - Christmas Day. My three kids and their boyfriends/girlfriend are coming for gift opening and brunch.  Really need to plan for that one.  Dinner will be hubby, my sister and me.  Wondering why I'm not waiting until the Christmas season is over?  Well, I've already indulged enough for many Christmases!

Think I can make it through those two without cheating? Stay tuned - I will let you know!
