I'm 47. My first visit to a nutritionist, my first conscious "diet," was when I was 7.

In other words, I've been at this a long time.

It's hard to believe that I can still make a change, but I'm ready to believe again.

A year and a half ago, I lost about 50 pounds. I've mostly maintained that loss, but I still have a long way to go. It's time to shake it up out of maintenance.

I'm starting this diet bet at 285 (well, that's where I am today--we'll see where I am on the start date).  That means I'll have to lose roughly 11.5 pounds in 28 days, which you know is kind of fast.

But life isn't getting any longer! I have to see what I can do.
