Like many people my New Years Resolution is to lose weight and get healthy. Back in April 2014 I was 60 kgs and running daily. Unfortunately I tore my plantar fascia and have been off exercise since. Now over 15 kgs heavier I want to reclaim my fitness and health.

In May I could not get out of bed and put my foot down on the floor without excruiating pain.

To treat my plantar fasciitis I had daily strapping and 6 weeks of walking around in a moon boot, exercises and when this did not relieve the pain considerably I went to the Doctor and asked for injection in my heel so I could stand the pain. She refused and sent me off for Lithotripsy. Something that was not covered by any healthcare but she assured me had cured her of plantar fasciitis.

It was 3 treatments of shockwaves and boy did it hurt. I was told to stop all weight bearing exercises and daily heat treatment. Unfortunately although it did reduce the pain from about 10/10 to 2/10 I still have swelling and pain.

I am so over it and want to try to start exercise again and eating healthy.

My weight went on as I was in a spiral of "depression" over not being able to exercise so ate and then upset about my weight and as stupid as it sounds ate more.

Bring on 2015 and a new lease on life!
