So, 2015 is here, and I'm still overweight and unhappy with my current body. Every year, I vow to change. Well, last year I began my fitness journey in January, weighing in at 201 pounds, and I kept it up for a couple of months. I lost nearly 20 pounds by doing Cardio and Weight Training, and I even worked out while on my last vacation, but then.... my back went out... again.
I have a herniated disc in my lower back, and at any sudden moment, it disables me. If I bend down improperly, if I turn around too fast, if I try to sit on the ground too fast, if I hunch over for too long, and other private moments if you know what I mean *clear throat*, ANYTHING can set it off and at any given moment. Well, Nov 2nd I bent down to begin dusting my floor boards when it happend. Stabbing pain and muscle spasms. I can't stand up straight, I'm hunched over and my body contourts and looks like I have scoliosis. It hurts to sit, stand, lay, walk, be alive. So from there, it always takes me WEEKS to recover. Combine that with holidays and the normal weight gain that accompanies it, I gained back five (on a good day) to seven pounds. So I'm currently at 182 pounds.
Luckily, I found this website through one of the FITSPO (fitness inspiration) Instagram accounts I follow. And 4% of my body weight is 7.25 pounds. So, now that my back is sort of back to "normal", I am definietly eager to get back into my workout routine and lose the holiday/setback weight gain. I hope to find even more motivation by using Diet Bet and earning some extra cash to buy me the new FitBit ChargeHR! Incentives, Incentives! I also chose the group I'm in because I want to win Skinny Ms.'s ebook :-D
So, technically, in 2014 I stayed true to my "This Time" mindset and goal. I had hoped to lose 30 pounds in 2014, and 30 pounds in 2015. Had I not thrown my back out, I wonder if I would have met my goal? Probably not due to the holidays and all the delicious treats that constantly surround me. I have no self control. THIS TIME! I am going to keep my goal of losing 30 more pounds of fat, and gaining some nice lean muscles in 2015! I will accomplish this by eating clean and training mean!
This time! I will work on sculpting my legs, glutes, and arms. I want to strengthen my core and lower back to help prevent future herniated disc issues. And I hope to win so that I can say that I really enjoyed this part of the journey and join some more :)
Best of Luck to All Involved!
