My diet is going well. I'm planning to weigh myself in the morning so I can't say how well, but I know I feel differently. Small choices day afer day, putting good things in instead of bad, even though there hasn't been a big change its working on my mind. I'm headed int he right direction, that I know.

But I still have hurdles I can't quite conquer. The "special moments" are hard. Moments when I'm at a friend's house and they want to do wine and dessert. Moments during our small group that I want to eat the sweet snacks. Especially moments late at night when I want a dish of ice cream when I'm watching TV.

To combat this I've started using MyFitnessPal to track my calories. What an eye opener! That extra glass of wine at dinner or those second helpings make a huge difference. Its made me pay more attention to sodium levels and saturated fat. Its good! But its also dismaying to ask my husband what he wants for dinner every night and tally up how much that means I can eat during lunch.

But all in all its okay! It's 14 days into becoming a habit, which is what I needed. Its made me happy I drink my coffee black, and prefer diet coke to coke as well. (I know all the facts and you will still pry a can of diet coke out of my cold dead fingers one day. We all need joy. That's mine.)
