This is when I normally sit down to the computer, still sweaty and breathing hard, to share my "end-of-the-run sprint musical inspiration", and wish everyone a happy, healthy, and active weekend. I don't have that this week. Matt's out of town, and when he's not here my stress level rises and my hours of sleep decrease. 5 hours sleep + 7 mile run = pathetic end-of-the-run sprint, no matter WHAT music is playing. As a matter of fact - despite the PERFECT running weather - my heart just wasn't in the run at all today. It was one of the very few runs that was a mental struggle from start to finish for me. There was ONE thing that pushed me on, though, and allowed me to not just finish, but finish with a good run time - Jen's recent post showing off her daily activity numbers. Multiple times I closed my eyes and replayed in my head that awesome display of pure grit...the resolve, the devotion, the dedication (in the form of amazing numbers)...and I pushed on. So, thank you, Jen. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to finish what I set out to do when everything in me just wanted to walk home (and take a nap). Your scale is an idiot. You're doing a phenominal job...and your greatness is oozing out to the rest of us who need your heroic numbers to ispire us to do our best, too. So maybe I do have a song for this week, after all...
