I'm so excited to be starting DietBet and Eat to Live!
I've tried so many diet plans over the past several years. The only one that I really had any signifigant success with was Dr. Fuhrman's "Eat To Live" plan. This is essentially a vegan diet or what he calls a nutritarian diet. It's all about the nutrient density of food. If you want information on the diet, check it out here - http://mymommatoldme.com/food/nutritarian-eat-to-live-plan.
Last time I went on this program I felt amazing. The first week or so can be pretty rough as you battle your body's addiction with junk, but onceyou get past that, your mind is clear and you have more energy that you ever thought possible. I'm pretty excited. Anyways, I was inspired by the blogger whose link I shared above and thought this might be a good place to document my own journey through the program. I probably won't share every single meal I eat, but maybe I'll share the good ones. Mostly I'm making this a space to air my struggles and successes along the way.
The program is a 6-week-program, but the books says you can stay on it as long as you want or until your body naturally stops loosing weight. I'm going to try to stay on it until I reach my ultimate weight loss goal, which is 160. I might not get there during this round of Transformers, but I'm going to try to get as close as possible. I touched 165 many moons ago. That's the lowest I've been since I was...well...probably 13 years old, but it's supposed to be within a healthy BMI range for someone my height, so that's the goal. Just 45 pounds away.
