You can't exercise enough to counteract a crappy diet.

April 13, 2015:  It's taken me 50 years to get this through my head!  I've always been active and could never understand why I was not able to keep weight off.  It was the diet, duh.  You can't just eat whatever you want all the time.  For me to lose weight, I have to cut back from what I want to eat to what I should eat.  That means one meal a day and some protein based snacks to fill in.  I actually make a plan each day that includes some form of exercise and when and what my meal will be.  It really cuts down on eating crap too.  If I'm only eating one meal a day, it sure as hell isn't going to be fast food.

April 15, 2015:  In my get healthy goal, I joined a couple of hiking groups in Richmond  (through Meetup online).  Now I don't have to go out alone or ask everywhere for hiking buddies.  I just sign up, show up and get to hike all of the city and state with all kinds of like minded people.  There is this Monday night group called Urban Mountain Training.  It's 5 miles of city hills and 1300 stairs in total.  Kicks my butt for sure.  I'm going to lead a 12 mile DC hike one of these days and do ALL of the monuments and places of importance.  Anyone want to join me?
