I love this breakfast during the colder months of winter when I'm craving warmth in my belly. It's also filling enough to get me through my busy mornings.

  • 1/4 cup dry steel cut oats
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp grade B maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
  • Optional: fresh berries

Combine oats and water in a pan. I like to set my water and oats in a pan on the stove on low-medium heat for 10-15 minutes while I continue getting ready in the morning. There are several other ways to cook oatmeal, do what works best for you. Then stir in maple syrup, peanut butter and nuts. Top with optional fruit.
