Yep, I've been on the weight loss band wagon all my life.  I'm normally successful.  Losing is the easy part.  Keeping it off is where I was a failure. BUT, in 2007 something jumped on me.  I'm not sure what caused it.  At first, it was accidental.  I lost 22 lbs in two years without even trying.  Two Years! Yes, but guess what?!  That means I kept it off for Two Years!  WooHoo for me!

In 2010 my last child moved out and I was alone.  (not married, yay for me!)  That meant good things for me.  I could keep whatever type of food I wanted and not have to worry about the typical stuff my girl wanted to eat.  In addition to that I thought, maybe I should walk a little and lose more. Well, the first time I jumped (actually just slowly eased up on) my treadmill and tried to do the 'easy' 20 minute program, I thought I might pass out!  Not even kidding.  I was huffing and puffing, but I could not have blown your house down!  But it worked!  I was losing even more weight and eating healthier.

I started reading about healthier ways to eat, downloaded My Fitness Pal and started counting calories.  After a relatively short period of time, guess what?  I Started Running!  Oh yes I did!  Now, I'm no spring chicken and I was morbidly obese.  237 at my heaviest,  (eeeeps!) and I'm only 5'4"!  Yeah, tsk tsk.  But I got faster, healthier and on a roll!  NO, I didn't EAT a roll!  I got ON a roll!  My son was a runner and had just completed the OKC Memorial Half Marathon and that inspired me.  He moved to San Antonio, so we decided to do the Austin Half Marathon together.  Not only did I go for it, I completed it!  I didn't make great time, but WOW, from where I was in 2007 to where I ended up in 2012 was amazing.  Since that time, I have done many 5k races, become a Zumba instructor and finally, just last year, completed the OKC Memorial Half Marathon.  My weight went down to 143.  My goal was 140. I didn't make it, but... Good times!

My life is so much better and I've managed to keep the weight off, until this last year.  <hanging my head>  I've gained 15 lbs.  There is no excuse.  I ate too much of the wrong stuff, and now I'm getting fat.  That's how it works.  I still exercise a minimum of 5 times a week and love it.  I just have to get back on track with my eating.  I'm hoping DietBet will help!  I look forward to the challenge and getting my money back.
