How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I am so frustrated. I am eating so good, exercising daily, drinking over a gallon of water daily, but the scale wont budge. I have been 2.5 away from goal all week. I was trying to go low-carb and I had a few days were I ate below my 1500 calories. I think too few calories may have stalled things, but yesterday - with a few more carbs - I ate all my food and still nothing. I did not want to be here, cutting it close and on a day when my son's scouts has a sleepover where there is bound to be so much junk. But I suppose I will double down. Bring veggies tonight, figure out how to get more protein in, shoot for 1500 in low carbs.

Too few calories will never stall things, thats not how thermodynamics works. Starvation mode is a myth. However our bodies are weird and hold onto water during weightloss. Then all at once let it go, its called a woosh. Eating too many carbs also wont make you gain weight as long as your calories are in check. What eating carbs can do is build back up your glycogen stores which then hold onto water and make the scale higher. This is why people doung keto see such dramatic weightloss at first, they burn up all their glycogen which causes a huge drop in water weight initially. In the end studies have shown high carb and zero carb diets produce identical fatloss long term if they are in the same calorie deficit! In other words your doing great its just water weight! Sorry this was so long

Thanks guys. I think I keep tripping myself up. I ate so well this weekend, but Saturday a little heavy on the cheese; last night out to dinner was probably high on salt even if it was salmon. I am still stalled, but I hear you, Hannah, that my stress has not been helping, so I am going to focus on that. And Nanette, that was really helpful, and confirmation for my plan for today. I got this.
