How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Tips for weigh out:
1. Be as relaxed as possible: submit your goal weight before you weigh out so you can get your weigh-out word. Lie down for a few minutes if you can and then step on the scale. If the weight is lower than goal, you can still change it to final weight after your 2 photos.
2. Best post I’ve seen on DB “Sometimes, you’re just one big poop away from your goal!” Do some squats, drink some coffee, etc...Read many a goal reached because of this.
3. Weigh out naked- JUST for the feet & scale photo NOT full body haha. Seen this recommended, it can make a difference :)
4. No matter what the scale says, ANY and ALL changes you made to be healthier, stronger & better are all changes that you achieved and can keep on achieving! I’ve won/lost almost the same amount of Dietbets and even with the losses, you live, learn & get back up!

I am down 6 lbs. I didn't win (but fully expect to see the weight tomorrow, because, you know how it goes :() anyway, 6lbs is 6lbs and that is a good thing. :)

I didn't reach my goal. But I'm not giving up. I've stalled and I just have to work out how to get it moving again. I've still got over 20kg to lose so nowhere near my goal. Good luck everyone xx

Hi everyone, newbie question—when people mention watching your sodium intake, how much sodium should we limit per day? I bloat easily and I’m wondering if that might be a cause? Is it best not to add salt to things and avoid salty foods entirely?

**Prefacing this by saying I am in no way medically trained and this is all based on my own research and knowledge. Please consult your doctor, especially if you have any health issues!**

It’s very individual! The FDA recommends that people consume no more than 2,300mg/day, and that certain groups should limit intake to 1,500mg/day. I tend to stick more toward that low end because my body reacts horribly to sodium.

In the other side...If you’re Keto, that naturally depletes your sodium (and all electrolytes). A lot of people on Keto supplement their sodium by adding more salt to things to avoid getting the symptoms of low sodium like dizziness, weakness, etc aka part of “Keto flu”. I am Keto and have never purposely added sodium and have been fine, but thought I should mention it!

This is so helpful, thanks So much! What is a good flavoring substitute to use instead of salt? Are there pepper rubs or other things that are good to use?

I’ve been horrible sick but I stuck to my woe and met my goal! I did have a can of chicken noodle soup one night but it was all I ate that entire day. I’m proud of myself and everyone else!!
