How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

So... I went looking for a cheer up article for Nathalie and others worried about their plateaus ... Instead I only found some sage advice in an article "PSA: The Whoosh Effect is not a Real Thing". The primary point of the article is that fat cells do not fill up with water that will all of a sudden get peed away. Which was sad. On the other hand, it does provide a physiological reason for plateaus and it is not your fault. It is a journey not a trip around the block. Time to trick the brain.... change it up... but keep moving and eat healthy.
"Dr. Stanford says. "When weight loss occurs, the brain really tries to do what it can to compensate, such that it's going to try to rebound back to where it was before the diet," she says. That's why so many people go through "weight cycling," or repeated loss and gain of weight, for instance. "The body doesn't recognize that excess that's not needed, so it'll do whatever it can do to defend that," she says. In other words: People experience weight-loss "plateaus" because their bodies are designed to work that way, not for lack of willpower."

Jo H. Thanks for the lead. Will check it out today.

Right? Steph G.! I particularly hung to the idea that my squishy tummy etc was just fat cells filled with water and just waiting for the perfect moment to escape.
