How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

  • As we near closer to the end of our game I wanted to touch on the emotional and mental side of weightloss and how IMPORTANT a positive mindset is to overall success. Negative self talk is the absolute worst thing we can do to ourselves. Our bodies and our minds are always listening - and you get to control what they hear.
So in saying that I’d like to propose a couple challenges:

•First, I’d like you to write down 5 positive things about yourself. Don’t stop writing until you have FIVE THINGS.

•Second, I want you to write down 3 ways your life has changed since starting your personal journey to a healthier version of you.

-Spend a few minutes reflecting on your answers, and also the process of getting to those answers: was it hard to think of 5 positive things about yourself? Why or why not?

Please share your responses below in the comments ONLY if you feel comfortable doing so ❤

I am kind and encouraging, good at my job, a good soccer player, can strike up a conversation with anyone, and am good at having a good day. I have been learning: keeping track of my calories keeps me out of denial, I can always have the treat I want to have tonight tomorrow instead, and I am getting good at not having an emotional response to the scale. Thanks to the group for all the new insights especially for that last one.

I believe that I am a good teacher, who is able to build strong relationships with students, and help them find their place in my class. I am a good gift-giver. I draw, paint, sculpt, etc… well. I think that I am a decent cook, and finally that I am an adventurous traveler.Life changes...I can fit into some clothes that I have not been able to wear for over three years now. I get outside more- taking walks, biking to pick up groceries, etc..

Honestly, both of these are quite difficult to answer. Like many, weight/physical health and my mental health are really intertwined. Neither are great right now. They haven’t been great for a while.

It is hard to think of “positive” things about myself- or maybe it is better to say that I have a hard time not second guessing them? Most of my answers are things that in my mind can be “objectively assessed”, you know? Someone could judge if I was a good teacher or not. You can tell if people enjoy/use/appreciate gifts. We all have friends who can cook well, and those who cannot, and if you can’t draw or paint well, it is something anyone can see. Those things are easy for me to write, because those are things that I feel I have evidence for.

Writing things about my…personality? Looks? General…”me” are much harder. I feel there are not really positives to me as an individual, and that’s part of a larger problem. Whenever I do these exercises (positive thoughts, lists of compliments, etc…) I feel very uncomfortable. I don’t feel I have anything to write. Then, in the few times where I think I have something to write, I second guess it and never do. "Should I write that I have a nice smile? My besides losing weight, getting down for a healthy size (which I once was), my biggest hopes in this journey would be for me to actually have a “life change”. Find self love? Appreciation? Learn to be kind to myself?
