How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone

I like to experiment with fad diets for a few weeks at a time, maybe a month if it’s going well, something along the lines of don’t knock it until you try it (and I usually end up knocking it afterwards). They’re always intended to be short-term, although I suppose if I found one that worked for me longer term I would be receptive to it.

I gave keto a try starting in the beginning of May. It’s definitely not for me. The thought of eating now makes me nausested. I’m not sure if I can ever eat chicken again! I’m not craving any carbs, so the natural implication of this is that I’m just not eating very much. I’ve never loved meat or eaten that much of it, so this isn’t surprising to me.

The silver lining of this is that I’ve lost almost six pounds since the beginning of May. But I think I’m going to leap out of Ketosis after the two week mark and just go back to consciously limiting carbs rather than trying to eliminate them.

I have found a lot more respect for people who can stick to this diet!

I recognize that it’s the best diet for some people. I just wish I enjoyed the food at all. Right now, all I can stomach is cheese and tuna salad!

There are some plant-based keto (or just low carb) diets out there. One good source is Leanne Vogel. But if eating carbs doesn’t make you maniacally ravenous like me then you probably don’t need low carb like I do. Leanne’s website is www.healthfulpursuit.com. I’ve been doing LCHF for 2 months now and it’s changed my life. However I am tired of meat. Have started experimenting with low carb, home-made cereal (yum)! That’s from Carolyn Ketchum’s website “All I Dream About is Food.”
