  • I am a walker. I only walk. I walk 5k in about 55minutes on average. This week i signed up for a race on a whim for my 37th birthday and decided “eh, I’ll try to run it!”

    My 5k was supposed to be today and it was cancelled due to flood waters. My best times before were around 55-58 minute 3.2mi walks.

    Since my race was cancelled, I downloaded some new songs to a playlist, laced up my shoes, and kicked my own ass for 3.2 miles.

    I did it.

    I didn’t die.

    I didn’t quit.

    I still walked more than I ran...

    But I ran. And I finished in just over my goal of 45 minutes.

    Tomorrow, I’ll do it again. Because I can do it.
