How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Ok, in the end I lost 9.4 lbs. I did not achieve the goal for 6 months, but I did better than I would've if I had not even tried. Not beating myself up, and SUPER happy for everyone who did make it!!

I missed the final weigh in. I've always made it with a pretty strict diet and water intake at the end, but with recent changes, I really wanted to eat with my family so it didn't work.

So I missed this one, but signed up for another Kickstarter and I'll keep working at a slower pace than originally planned.

Thanks everyone!

So after much work, I didn't make it. But I'm more upset at myself for not entering weigh-ins along the way than anything! At least that way I would have registered that I went from 154 to 136! Or maybe not have gained as much In Christmas! In any case I'm happy with where I got and I already signed up for another transformer! Live and learn! ;)
I hope you all got to your goals!!

I know I have to keep the weekly weighing going or I lose track.

Over the last year, I’ve done 2 Transformers and lost 35 pounds! The knowledge that there was some money on the line helped keep me focused on the concrete goal of 10%. It’s difficult to stay focused over the long term, but easier when you’ve got another weigh in around the corner!

I’m not quite where I want to be yet, but I’m going to take a break from diet bets. The time has come for me to take all the lessons I’ve learned over the past year and maintain my weight on my own. After this Transformer, do you intend to do another diet bet?

I hope you all reach a healthy and sustainable goal weight and love yourselves no matter what the scale says. Cheers!

I don’t intend to do another diet bet because I’ve lost way more games than I’ve won. But I do plan on continuing my weight loss.

Justin W.

Iam going to do another transformer to get ready for beach season, but it’s a lot of pressure to hit your goals every time so after that I may take a break also. Good luck to you Emma!

Whoaaa I made it, but it was close!!! Although I was hoping to lose a bit more during this challenge, I cannot complain about a 16.4 weight loss. And now I’m only 10 pounds away from my personal goal. Overall, this was a great experience, thank you Diet Bet.

Just made it with a final push at the end (have been off the pace since Xmas) - weirdly i think lockdown in the UK has helped - forced me to plan my meals better (because if you’re only going out once a week to shop then you need to plan!), working from home means I have had extra time that I would have been commuting to plan, exercise and take care of myself and I haven’t been eating out at lunch time, and the restrictions in place about going out once per day for exercise actually kind of focussed me into making sure I used that opportunity as often as possible to go for a run. So that has been nice for me personally but of course appreciate that in the grand scheme of things it’s small silver lining in a very dark cloud - hope everyone is staying safe and well as that’s the most important thing right now x

I’m with you! I looked at my weight progression and at Christmas, 2 months into the game, I was back at my starting weight, which made it way harder to catch up at the end! It’s good to focus on the positive parts of this lockdown situation, and I’m trying to use the time so that I can come out the other side in a better place - no quarantine fifteen for this girl!

I’m not sure if I’ll do another 6 month one. Biggest reason is I’m at the point where losing weight is extremely slow. But another big reason is I feel like the one month challenges are super quick, challenging and rewarding where this one I was like well I have a few months and didn’t push myself as hard. Anyone else?

I find a combination of the long and short term goals helps - it’s easy to stick with a stricter regime for 4 weeks but is it sustainable longer term? I have done both types in the past (a couple of years ago now) and when I was able to I did to do the monthly ones alongside 6 monthly as a bit of a booster - the monthly ones were challenging however it meant that I was always well ahead on the 6 monthly ones (which was a nice extra payout.) This time around the 6 monthly was much harder due to personal circumstances around Xmas/ jan / Feb (couldn’t quite keep up with the pace!) so it was great to have the time to catch up towards the end when things went a bit wrong in the middle - I think I made the first round and the last round so hopefully will just cover my initial stake, but at no point did I feel demotivated or stop trying because the end point always seemed achievable (even when weight loss was slow!). Each to their own, you have to do what’s right in your circumstances - if you find the 4 weekly ones more motivating and think you’re more likely to be successful with those then I say go for it

I am not going to make the weigh-in goal, but I have lost 10 lbs since the beginning of this DietBet. I am happy that I have at least lost #’s instead of gained. Just taking it one day at a time. Just keeping at it!

Weight loss takes time. Great job on ten pounds. Just getting motivated to do that can be hard! You got this. Never give up on healthy!

  • I hope everybody did well I met my goal a couple months ago and I have maintained it, for that I am proud. but, what I’m not proud of is that I started this game had the same weight that I start all of these long games. I just don’t want the inevitable to happen, that once the motivation of the game is gone I lose the motivation to work as hard. During the games I can always justify not eating that extra slice of cake or to get up and get to the gym even if I really don’t want to that day, because I have this game and I don’t want to fail myself. But when the game is over and I feel like I can relax and breathe that’s when I start to slip and I don’t want to slip this time I’ve come too far, to many times???. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope the rest of your 2020 is much better. Go climb to greater heights! ?

Congratulations! I’m in the same boat you described. I want to hold the weight down, too. Hope for the best for ya!

Justin W.

If you are happy where you are Sign up for a maintainer challenge. That will keep you from slipping! It’s what I plan to do in the future. You look great by the way! Good luck to you Stacey!
