Hi everyone. I hope you all enjoyed the this challenge. I know how silly this question will sound but I’m clueless: How do you get a flat stomach? I’m losing weight but nothing is changing on the tummy. I thought visceral fat was suppose to be the first to disappear.

If your like me and have had a belly for a very long time (7 years).... It'll be hard to slim it. Doing ab exercises can help and eating clean. I've lost 30lbs since January but my tummy still isn't near what I'd like lol.

Just be patient and keep it up! :relaxed:

  • Are you drinking enough water?

No matter what strategy or plan you are following in this game, one thing is for certain... they all recommend that you drink plenty of water!

    A couple easy tips:
    1. Track your water consumption with an app or pen and paper
    2. Use a visual reminder such as a marked water bottle or 8 rubber bands on your wrist and switch them to the other hand as you finish a glass
    3. Make water more fun by adding fruit
    4. Try your water hot! I love warm lemon water in the morning
    5. Tie drinking a glass of water to a habit or time of day. (first thing in the morning, before a meal, before bed, right when you get to work...)

If you have a tip that works for you, share it below in the comments.

I love #5! I'm going to start doing that! I'll have water when I first wake up, another glass or bottle after my workout, another when I get to work, drink some throughout the day, and another right when I get gone from work. Then I'll slow down so I can sleep ;)

That is a great plan, Amanda!

  • How was the weekend for everyone?

Your Monday Motivation reminder to be kind to yourself. Life is all about balance, and that is key to create a new lifestyle. It's all about picking yourself up and being as kind to yourself as you are to your family, friends, and even strangers. Some of us would never treat others the way we treat our own selves.

Are you kind to yourself? It's a work in progress, for sure!

Share how your weekend went and how you're going to rock this week!

  • With a lot of changes happening, many of us are struggling with keeping up a healthy lifestyle.

Being home with constant access to the pantry or fridge, not having access to the gym, lack of a set schedule, stress or anxiety, maybe some boredom... There are a lot of new struggles to overcome.

My challenge to you this weekend is to spend some time self-monitoring. Instead of getting frustrated over the things you're struggling with, keep a journal. Identify when you are struggling, how you are feeling, and possibly how you can make changes. In addition to collecting valuable information, often just the act of self-monitoring helps!

Let us know how it goes!

  • Did you know: Exercise edition!

Did you know that exercise can reduce your risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, improves your mood and even can help with migraines?

It truly is a magic pill! Do you find that you feel much better when you exercise regularly?

  • I’m going to guess a lot of us struggle with getting enough sleep. In our culture of go, go, go and with so many distractions, it can be very hard to turn it off. Also, right now, many of us have had our schedules thrown for a loop.

Studies show that poor sleep is one of the strongest risk factors for obesity, as it’s linked to an 89% increased risk of obesity in children and 55% in adults. In fact, sleep loss can release a hormone that will make you feel hungry when you’re not. Sleep loss also increases fat storage.

Losing weight can help you get better sleep because it can help with sleep apnea, how comfortable you feel, and insomnia that can come from depression related to your weight.

    Sleep Tips from WebMD

    1. Don't go to bed feeling hungry, but don't eat a big meal right before bedtime.
    2. Exercise regularly, but no sooner than three hours before bedtime.
    3. Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol in the late afternoon and evening.
    4. No naps. If you have trouble sleeping at night, don't nap during the day.
    5. Establish relaxing pre-sleep rituals, such as a warm bath or a few minutes of reading.
    6. Create a pleasant sleep environment. Make it as dark and quiet as possible.
    7. If you can't sleep, don't stay in bed fretting. After 30 minutes, go to another room and involve yourself in a relaxing activity until you feel sleepy.

Do you feel you get enough sleep? Share your struggles or tips below!

Get ready for the final weigh in! Once the game ends tonight at midnight PST, you have until 11:59PM PST on Apr 16 to submit your final weight. If you're a winner, you'll be asked to submit photos and will get a new weigh-in word when you visit the weigh-in screens.

Submit early to make sure your photos are accepted, and remember - don't eat that cupcake until you get an email that your photos are approved! (If you don't get one, check your spam folder.) You must have an approved weigh-in in order to be declared a winner.

The game will finalize 24-36 hours after all weigh-ins have been submitted. Good luck!
