How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I am so discouraged. I have tracked for over 20 days straight. I have only gone over my calorie limit on one of those days. I have been doing so well, and somehow this week my weight jumped almost back to where I started this month at! What gives?
I started at 208, lost to 204, then this week I am back up to 207!!! Ughhhh.
(I’m not on my period or PMSing either....)

@Jose, I did know protein causes an insulin spike, but not as much as carbs. And yes, you do need insulin, however you don’t need it 6-8 times a day. With CICO, your metabolism recognizes “wow, I’m only getting 1200 calories a day, let me only burn 1400 today. And 1300 tomorrow, and 1200 after that, and 1100 the next day” (obviously not that dramatic, but for comprehensive reasons) your BMR will lower and lower. That’s why people Plateau, and then eventually gain it back and then some. This happened to me even when I moved to Germany, was hardly eating many calories but grazing, and biking and walking so many miles a day. And then the docs will say “because you’re lazy! It must be your fault!” Fasting windows are the way to go to avoid this. Highly recommend The Obesity code for a great read.

@Kelsie Do you agree that you have to have calorie deficit to lose weight? And if you do, REGARDLESS of the deficit, your metabolic rate reduces anyway. And as weight goes DOWN, it reduces even more. That's just basic biology 101. I posted a thread awhile back on "plateuing" and how it's miscontrued. You should check it out. If people REGAIN weight, it's only because of one main reason.........calorie surplus. It still comes down to basic math. I do believe in fasting. Personally I only eat 2 times a day with snacks. I'm eating less than I did before which is why weight is consistently going back down.
