How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Happy Halloween to you all!

I'm sure you all have seen those graphics that have pictures of various types of candy or candy bars showing the calories associated with each, right? It usually then has an exercise of some type listed to show how many minutes of that activity you have to burn in order to eat that candy.

I just want to say a piece of candy is not the end of the world. Nor should any food you eat be thought of in terms of how many minutes you need to exercise to burn it off. Certainly eating an entire bag of Snickers isn't a good idea whether you're watching what you eat or not. But having a candy bar isn't going to derail all of your progress. What we do MOST of the time matters more than what we do SOME of the time.

Exercise is not a punishment. Exercise should be viewed as something we enjoy. If you don't enjoy it and do view it as a punishment, then you are less likely to stick with it. If the exercise you're currently doing is not enjoyable, find something you do enjoy.

- After all, if the exercise is something you enjoy then you'll look forward to doing it.
- If you look forward to doing it, then you're more likely to stick with it.
- If you're more likely to stick with it, then the more progress you're going to see.

So get out and move this weekend. Get in your 18,000 steps (combined total between the two days). Drink your water. Plan your meals. And if you end up enjoying a candy bar, ENJOY it. Don't beat yourself up about it, or put yourself through a grueling workout to "work it off."

Perfection is impossible. Consistency is the goal.

I had a few slices of pizza. And today I will get back to it. I've often viewed my diet and exercise as transactional. I'm now trying to view both as good ways to treat my body and to enjoy them.

thank you for putting into words what i’ve been struggling to tell my friends. I’ve lived in the enjoy/punish cycle with food most of my life. only with DietBet, FitBit and a few others, have i finally gotten over that brutal cycle
