How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

What happens if I don’t weigh out?

I’ve been faithful to my plan but stalled out this week and still have 2 lbs to go. I’m not losing 2 lbs by Monday morning.

I’ve never lost a DietBet before. I just looked through the rules and the FAQ, but could not find the answer: Do I forfeit more money by not weighing out than by weighing out but not making my goal?

I’m going out of town and won’t take my scale with me, unless it’s going to cost me extra money not to submit a weigh-out. Thanks!

Thank you, Jen! That clears things up. If I gain over the holidays you may see me back after the first of the year! And I’m still keeping up my 10000 steps to try to win that first challenge!
