One of the hardest parts about staying on track for me is the time I spend sitting on my tail end doing school work for college. Not only am I completely sedentary, but I have also conditioned myself to snack while I’m sitting there. White cheddar popcorn, Coke Zero, and sugar-free chocolates are my biggest culprit, and when you’re in that chair for hours a day, all those carbs and fat can add up quick. I can occasionally utilize my treadmill desk, but find it hard to walk, think, and type at the same time (I’m not that focused or coordinated). I can take breaks, but I’m not sure how to combat the need to eat. What tricks have you used to get through the need to snack while you’re working at your desk?

I’m also in college and understand what you’re going through. I like to keep water and a cold brew at my desk because they both help to keep me full. If you are not a coffee fan try tea. Also don’t keep snacks at your desk, “out of sight out of mind”. I like to snack on the pre portioned bags of baby carrots when I’m just mindlessly snacking at my desk. When I take a break to have a snack I walk around my room or even put some music on and dance around (embarrassingly bad) to give my brain a break and get some activity in.
