How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I've been logging everything I eat using the FitBit app. I've been really good about keeping my 1,000 calorie deficit every day and I'm happy with my weight loss so far.

What I do notice is my protein for day is always really low. I planned to eat more Greek Yogurt and then discovered I had bought TJ's European Non-fat yogurt by mistake (the containers look really similar). Anyway it does have fewer calories and is tasty...but hardly any protein. I don't want to do the bars/powders/shakes - prefer to eat real food. What are other people eating for high protein that is low fat and low cal (and preferably low budget)?

Egg whites are low fat and low cal. I just started using them as I asked for protein ideas in another diet bet a couple weeks ago haha I usually do one whole egg and then my second egg with egg whites. The egg whites are also pasteurized so says right on my carton can put in smoothies and everywhere (like raw) so I've been trying to find ways to sneak it in places.
Also turkey breast! Sometimes you can get it in your deli section... I had some in my freezer from christmas and started adding it to my eggs in the morning it was lower fat then the chicken but chicken is a good option too.
Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and low fat brick cheese. I was also told skim ricotta cheese and that it works good as a dip (like the cottage cheese with some seasonings example) and there are a few recipes you can use it in. I havent tried it yet and it's a little pricier than cottage cheese but I picked some up today so I'm going to try it.

Thanks everyone. I went back through all my logs to see which days I actually hit 50g protein. Low fat cottage cheese, non-fat Greek yogurt (when I'm not a shopping idiot and buy the wrong yogurt), chicken breasts, ground turkey, and fish were eaten on the days I did best. Trying to avoid the calorie dense options like beans, nuts, and cheese. Egg whites mixed with a single whole egg is another great idea to get a low cal high protein breakfast in. Trying to only shop every few weeks, so will be sure to stock up on protein items next time I do.
