How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

Intermittent fasters: what is the rule on sugar free gum or flavored drink mixes? Right now I avoid them when I’m fasting, but I’m curious.

I drink only plain water and black coffee until 1pm, and plain water after 7pm. I have found that rules for intermittent fasting are not only one thing... do what works best for you. If you can’t drink plain water add a lemon wedge or cut up a strawberry or cucumber and see if this small amount of flavoring makes drinking water easier.

It depends on your reason for fasting. If fasting for autophagy, no artificial sugar allowed because it spikes blood sugar and insulin. If fasting for weight loss there’s lots more flexibility to do what works for you. For example, I’ve found I can eat 500 calories on a “fast day” (of no sugar, low carb) and still lose weight. If for spiritual reasons, it depends on the program you’re following.
